Regional Clusters
The most important industrial sectors in the Moravian-Silesian Region are already organized in clusters, which gives the Region a new profile and makes it much simple for investors to access individual subcontractors. In this respect, this is the leading Region in the Czech Republic.
ClusterNet is an Regional Development Agency´s initiative to bring a common solution to cluster development. The aim is to create and coordinate cooperation between everybody involved in clusters.

Recently there are 9 functional clusters in the Moravian-Silesian Region:
Moravian Silesian Wood Processing Cluster focuses on setting up a growing wood processing sector in the Moravian-Silesian region that would become an important supplier and exporter of timber structures and innovative components for timber structures and constructions.
Moravian Silesian Engineering Cluster - its aim is to build up a high-class and modern engineering platform prepared in light of human recources, technologies and innovation for creation of supply chains in the area of strategic projects in the global scale.
IT Cluster - its mission is to prepare and develop human resources, to create potential for new solutions for innovative projects and to organize common marketing activities. As regards human resources, the main priority of the cluster is to draw IT companies into the educational processes at a university (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the VŠB Technical University of Ostrava), as well as at secondary schools and at lifelong-education institutions.
Moravian-Silesian Automotive Cluster supports innnovation and increase of competition and export potential of networked companies, businessmen and institutions within the Region. Its mission is to develop automotive industry and to build up a unique platform of automotive suppliers in the Region.
HYDROGEN Cluster - its mission is to support activities and development of Science and Research of hydrogen technologies. Cluster also cooperates with educational institutions active in the hydrogen area.
ENVICRACK Cluster - its key project is the Pyrolysis processing of assorted waste aimed at combined productions of warmth and electrical energy. Waste is for cluster ENVICRACK the potential input source for its more effective processing using the pyrolysis technology. This view requires multisphere application of latest research knowledge and practical experience under regional conditions.
Knowledge Management Cluster focuses on the field of development of ICT and transfer of business knowhow especially for SMEs. It covers geographically Moravian-Silesian and Zlín Region.
The Tourism Cluster (KLACR) – its main goal is to create competitive touristic region, to coordinate activities in tourism, to communicate with public sector, to cooperate with partners active in tourism and to support innovations. Through successful cooperation with all the partners and entreprises involved in tourism, KLACR wants to remake within 5 year the Moravian-Silesian Region into prestigious both inland and incoming destination providing high-quality services together with increasing of efficiency of all persons involved.
The Moravian-Silesian Energetic Cluster - new cluster, established in 2008. Main goal is to cooperate on creation of national energetic conception, to develop research in energetics and to support and motivate regional agriculturists to production of biofuels.
